Due to escalation of the situation on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and a deadly skirmish of April 28-29, Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Boobek Azhikeev headed to Batken region.

Residents of Ak-Sai, Kyzyl-Jol and Kevit villages were temporarily evacuated.

The Minister visited the evacuee camp.

Tensions on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan escalated on April 28-29 and exchange of fire occurred between the military units of two sides.

13 Kyrgyz citizens were killed, including a 12-year-old girl. At least 134 Kyrgyzstanis were injured.
